How did you start your career in this industry?

When I first graduated college, I worked professionally in North Carolina in the retail industry as a buyer and commercial property management. I moved back to the Washington DC area and sought employment in the non-profit arena where the business was not driven my trends and I was not worried about profit margins. However, prior experienced landed me in Events Department managing the tradeshows.

How has IAEE shaped your career?

Communicating with my peers that face the same challenges and triumphs as I has given me a huge
professional advantage.

What advice would you give to a new member?

To take the time to become very familiar with the website. IAEE offers a lot of professional tools.

Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I am talkative but as a young child I had a speech impediment.

What do you like most about your chapter?

The networking opportunities

What community service projects do you like to be involved in? Why?

Mentoring you women. Young women need constant re-enforcement that they can achieve goals.

What would you say is the #1 IAEE member benefit?

Professional development

What do you like most about Expo! Expo!?

I have only attended two Expo Expos. One in person and one virtually. I enjoyed hearing the Keynote speakers as well as participating in the workshops.

Without using a specific company name, what new technology on the market can you just not live without? Why?

Video conferencing b/c my office is in the 17th month of remote working.

How do you currently use social media for your events?

My company has a Social Media Dept that promotes the activities of the organization. I do not specifically promote the events in my area.
